Pewaukee Sports Complex

Pewaukee, WI

Project Overview

raSmith provided full design services in the late 2000s, from planning through construction, for the 64-acre sports complex on designated parkland north of Lindsay Road and west of Highway 74 in the City of Pewaukee. The site planners, engineers, and landscape architects at raSmith worked closely with the parks director, City staff, mayor, and user groups to develop the plans, project budgets, and implementation.

The active recreational sports complex includes four baseball diamonds, seven large and five small soccer fields, two concession stands, landscaping, lighting, walking trails and vehicular circulation, and parking lots to accommodate the multi-use facility. The site plan was modified throughout the design process to retain and protect large existing oak trees and wooded areas, and to minimize grading in and around wetland and floodplain areas. Innovative stormwater management solutions were implemented to protect natural areas and groundwater.

Services provided by raSmith included the preparation of all plans from concept through construction documents, bid documents, survey, and staking and construction administration.

Additionally, in 2022, raSmith was retained by the City of Pewaukee to conceptualize, design, permit, and provide construction inspection services for the conversion of the four ball fields from natural dirt/grass infields to synthetic turf. The $1.6 million upgraded field surface enhances this sports venue for players and visitors, helping to position the facility as a premier destination for high-caliber tournaments across all competitor levels.
