raSmith provided civil engineering and site design services to support the addition of a two-lane drive-thru at Pullman Bank & Trust in Chicago, Illinois. The project was part of a broader reinvestment effort to modernize the branch and enhance the customer experience.
Drawing on its multi-market expertise, raSmith played a key role in navigating regulatory challenges by collaborating with the zoning attorney to modify the City of Chicago’s planned development sub-area boundaries, enabling the drive-thru addition. The team also supported the certified architect in securing permits through the City’s Department of Buildings, which helped keep the project on track. raSmith’s site design delivered added value by proactively minimizing stormwater management requirements.
Through strategically designing the on-grade impervious area and full-depth asphalt replacement to remain below regulatory thresholds, the team eliminated the need for stormwater detention — reducing costs and streamlining implementation.
