Foxtown Station

Mequon, WI

Project Overview

As part of the Foxtown mixed-use redevelopment in Mequon’s Town Center, this project transformed a historic ice house and adjoining lumber shed buildings into Foxtown Station — a special event venue and gathering place for the community. The landscape architects at raSmith collaborated with the client, architect, and project stakeholders to activate the outdoor spaces throughout the development.

Situated along the route of the Milwaukee Northern Railway and just off the regional Interurban Trail, Foxtown Station features an outdoor plaza with two pavilions and a beer garden for live music events, farmers markets, and other community gatherings. The outdoor spaces were defined by several landscape features, planters, gardens, brick pavers, and large trees to provide instant impact.

Foxtown Station includes a renovated 16,000-square-foot building with spaces for banquets, corporate events, and private gatherings; a restaurant; and an arcade.
