County H/Bain Station Road Roundabout

Pleasant Prairie, WI

Project Overview

Recent development in the immediate area, including residential subdivisions and apartments, a corporate business park, and an industrial property, prompted the construction of a single-lane roundabout. The new roundabout is at the rural intersection of County Highway H and Bain Station Road in Pleasant Prairie. It provides increased efficiency and improved safety for the growing traffic in this rapidly developing area.

The single-lane roundabout was designed within a tight timeframe. On-road bicycle accommodations were installed to allow future adjoining projects to continue bicycle accommodations, thereby meeting Kenosha County Comprehensive Bike Plan recommendations. Multi-use paths were constructed in each corner of the roundabout to allow for the future addition of a bike trail.

Construction included street lighting throughout the roundabout, extending an additional 1,000 feet to connect with local street lighting installed as part of recent development.
