Wisconsin Department of Transportation Access Management, 2008–2017

Wisconsin

Project Overview

raSmith has been providing access management services directly for the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) since 2008 for the purpose of minimizing real estate litigation costs on WisDOT projects. As one of only a few access management experts in the state of Wisconsin, Pat Hawley has successfully testified at numerous court cases and administrative hearings.

raSmith’s access management services are unique in that we are able to assess the impact of a WisDOT highway project on particular businesses, specifically related to the ability to maintain reasonable access. Reasonable access reports are prepared for each impacted parcel, identifying whether post-project impacts are reasonable, and if not, what on-site or roadway improvements can be made to mitigate those impacts. The final document prepared by raSmith is used by WisDOT to avoid costly litigation.
