Project Overview
Northwestern Mutual’s 7Seventy7 residential tower in downtown Milwaukee offers residents a one-of-a-kind living experience. This 34 story tower provides spacious apartment homes in a setting that feels like a high-end hotel. raSmith performed exterior framing, wall studs and framing around windows and doors. Due to the location and height of the tower, the loads for this structure were much higher than most buildings in the Midwest and several different framing conditions came into play. There was also a large range of wind loads for different areas of the building. A wind tunnel test was completed in order to gauge the different pressures needed for different areas.
raSmith also provided interior soffit and wall framing. There was a variety of different soffits and wall stud conditions with various wall cladding (wood, tile, stone) that had to be considered when completing this project.
