Pat Hawley, P.E., PTOE, transportation senior project manager of raSmith, presented at the recent American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) of Wisconsin’s 2017 Transportation Improvement Conference. Hawley discussed reasonable access, an assessment of legal issues associated with driveway impacts along public roadways. During the presentation, conference attendees were provided with an overview of a property owner’s rights and WisDOT’s legal rights. Additionally, several examples of court rulings related to driveway impacts in Wisconsin were shown. Mike Roach, WisDOT statewide access management coordinator, co-presented.
