The Aurora Pavilion at Summerfest

Milwaukee, WI

Project Overview

One of the many popular stages at Henry Maier Festival Park (Summerfest) was enhanced with new amenities to create an improved experience for the audiences attending performances and events in the new space. Located near the center of the festival grounds, the new Aurora Pavilion (renamed after Summerfest’s exclusive health care sponsor, Aurora Health Care) provides a community gathering place for cultural programming, diverse musical performances, and events focused on healthy living.

In collaboration with Milwaukee World Festival, Inc., EUA (Eppstein Uhen Architects), and other stakeholders, raSmith provided landscape architecture services to support this high-profile project. New amenities include improved accessibility for people with mobility limitations, a new hospitality area, a widened entrance for increased capacity, new loading and bus parking areas, and a backstage artist production support area.

raSmith has also worked with Milwaukee World Festival, Inc. and EUA on other projects at Summerfest including Northwestern Mutual Community Park, BMO Pavilion, the Millennium Momentum project, the South Gate, and other developments. Henry Maier Festival Park is home to Summerfest, ethnic and cultural festivals, and other community events held throughout the summer.
