Project Overview
raSmith designed this 1.45-mile perpetuation project through downtown Baileys Harbor, including an HMA mill & overlay, 22 curb ramp replacements, isolated curb & gutter and sidewalk replacement, guardrail upgrades, and culvert replacements. Complex curb ramp details were required to match the existing conditions with minimal impacts to the downtown businesses on this project. Culvert replacements just outside of town required close coordination with the WDNR and local public utilities.
Additionally, raSmith prepared a Transportation Project Plat (TPP) and TLE exhibits for the required real estate interests. Resources along the project included historic properties, sensitive natural areas, and Section 4(f) properties. Finally, the project’s construction schedule was developed to avoid the peak tourist season in Baileys Harbor.
