Project Overview
The Village of Slinger secured a $165,000 Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Transportation Economic Assistance (TEA) grant to support infrastructure improvements within the new Merchant Village commercial and industrial district. The funding enables the construction of Karius Court, a roadway that provides direct access into the development and positions the site for long‑term business and industrial growth.
As part of this effort, raSmith prepared the TEA grant application and coordinated extensively with WisDOT throughout the review and approval process, ensuring the Village met all program requirements. In addition, raSmith provided roadway and utility design, survey services, and construction services to deliver high‑quality infrastructure aligned with the development’s long‑term buildout and the Village’s economic development objectives.
The TEA‑funded infrastructure supports the relocation of Allegis Corporation’s materials‑converting division from Libertyville, Illinois, to Slinger—an investment expected to create 33 new jobs and strengthen the region’s manufacturing base. Karius Court also opens additional parcels for future development within the 130‑acre Merchant Village site, located near the I‑41 and Highway 60 interchange.
