Pat Ford, P.E., S.E.
Pat Ford, P.E., S.E., senior structural project manager with raSmith, a multi-disciplined civil and structural engineering and surveying firm, has received a Notable Sages Over 65 Award from BizTimes. This award acknowledges the exemplary leadership and mentorship demonstrated by seasoned business leaders in the region.
Ford’s career in cold-formed steel engineering spanned 43 years. Before joining raSmith, Ford was principal and co-owner of Matsen Ford Design Associates, a pioneer in cold-formed steel engineering since 1987. Matsen Ford Design Associates was acquired by raSmith in 2018, and Ford joined the company as a senior structural project manager.
Ford served as the technical director of the Steel Framing Industry Association for 12 years and chair of the American Iron and Steel Institute Committee on Framing Standards – Framing Design Subcommittee. Ford was involved with various organizations including the Cold-Formed Steel Engineering Institute (CFSEI) where he held the positions of past president, director, and technical editor, and is a lifetime member; American Institute of Steel Construction; American Iron and Steel Institute; American National Standards Institute; American Society of Civil Engineers; American Society for Testing and Materials; Association of the Wall and Ceiling Industries; Center for Cold-Formed Steel Structures; and the National Society of Professional Engineers.
