Pearl May, PLA, P.E.
raSmith’s Illinois office continues to grow its portfolio of clients and projects, creating an opportunity to add more staff to the team. Pearl May, PLA, P.E., has joined raSmith as a project engineer in the site design group at the firm’s Naperville, Ill., office. She brings a unique skill set with over 18 years of combined experience in landscape architecture and civil engineering for residential, commercial, and private developments in the Upper Midwest and Mid-Atlantic markets.
May’s expertise includes projects with urban green stormwater management, suburban best management practice design, permitting in ecologically sensitive development areas, sustainable planting designs, and many others. Additionally, May’s horticultural knowledge augments her design approach to benefit projects.
“We are thrilled that Pearl has joined the site design group at raSmith, bringing exceptional design, permitting, and landscape architectural experience to our Naperville office,” said Dan Miletic, P.E., raSmith senior project manager. “With her expertise, she will elevate the team’s capabilities and play a significant role in the expansion of raSmith’s consulting engineering services in the Chicagoland market.”
May is a professional landscape architect licensed in Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania. In addition, she is a professional engineer licensed in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania. She holds a master’s degree in civil and environmental engineering and a bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture and horticulture from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
The Naperville-based team provides multi-disciplinary civil and structural engineering, site design, landscape architecture, and surveying services on a variety of projects including commercial facilities, K-12 schools, industrial expansions, and other developments in Illinois. raSmith is always in search of new talent to fill job positions at the firm’s Naperville office as well as other locations across the United States.
