Master Bikeway Plan
City of New Berlin, Wisconsin

A bicycle/pedestrian plan was prepared to meet the City’s need for providing safe alternative transportation facilities. Railroad crossings with no adjacent street or signals and education issues were the greatest challenges.

The project included the following: development of planning criteria; inventory/analysis of existing and proposed bicycle and pedestrian facilities; recommendations for bicycle routes and improvement; safety analysis to reduce accidents and improve safety; implementation and funding strategies; public promotion of facilities; and operation and maintenance procedures.
