R.A. Smith & Associates is Providing Planning Services to the Village of McFarland
BROOKFIELD, WIS. – R.A. Smith & Associates, Inc. — civil engineering, planning, surveying, landscape architecture, GIS and 3D visualization consultants — Brookfield, Wis., is providing the Village of McFarland with planning services to address future growth on the Village’s east side.
A neighborhood plan is being prepared to address a variety of issues including future land use, design standards, transportation networks, open space and greenways, utility planning and stormwater management. The planning effort will make use of R.A. Smith’s 3D visualization and animation capabilities to portray and assess the character of alternative development scenarios.
The planning team will advise the Village on LEED® neighborhood development practices, incorporating sustainable development concepts into the project. LEED projects provide both environmental and economic benefits including minimizing land disturbances and pollution; recycling resources; reducing waste and energy usage; protecting the balance of the ecosystems; and encouraging contractors purchasing regionally manufactured building materials to support the local economy, to name a few.
