CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MANAGER

R.A. Smith National, Inc. has multiple opportunities available for Construction Project Managers to work in the North Central, South West and North East regions on WISDOT construction projects. Construction Project Managers must be degreed civil engineers with 6 to 12 years experience.  Experience working on Wisconsin DOT construction projects is a plus.  Candidates for this opportunity are invited to visit www.rasmithnational.com for additional information.

DIRECTOR OF LAND DEVELOPMENT SERVICES

Directs and supervises the overall functions of the Land Development Services Division, including offices in other locations.  Provides planning, coordinating, and direction to create efficient, effective and profitable division operations.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Develops and achieves annually division goals
  2. Develops and achieves annual division budget, achieves revenue, and controls expenditures
  3. Ensures projects are completed on schedule, accurately and within budget
  4. Supervises and monitors staff performance
  5. Mentors, trains and ensures providing professional development/technical training for staff
  6. Develops and implements improvements and procedures to increase staff efficiency and effectiveness
  7. Maintain growth sufficient to provide opportunities for staff members
  8. Conducts yearly staff evaluations, including setting performance measures, compensation and business development
  9. Working with Human Resources; hires, promotes, disciplines, terminates and balances staffing levels
  10. Monitors and assures staff compliance with the Company’s Project Management Manual, Quality Control procedures of the Company and Company’s Personnel Handbook
  11. Actively conducts business development with existing and potential clients. 
  12. Assists the Marketing Department by: maintaining client contacts, involvement with target organizations, scoping projects, writing/reviewing proposals, participating in interviews, etc.
  13. Travels as necessary for business development, project management and management of other offices
  14. Negotiates contracts/agreements with clients
  15. Communicates problems and issues with the COO, Controller, and other Division/Department Managers as appropriate
  16. Participates in seminars, professional society activities, and other organizations supporting personal development and company interest
  17. Actively serves as a member of the Management Team
  18. Performs other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering
  2. A minimum of 10 year’s experience in civil engineering with 5 years experience at a managerial level
  3. Thorough understanding of the civil site development process
  4. A Wisconsin Professional Engineering registration
  5. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively direct others in a dynamic business environment
  6. Proficiency with office and project management software preferred
